The Story

      There was a time when domination ruled the planet but there were no victims, no conquerers, no dictators,no martyrs. SeeD, an organization founded around the world, removed military domination and created peace. SeeD members are specially trained soldiers that possess magical powers. In order to join SeeD, one must train hard and pass a graduation exam.
      Squall, a member of SeeD dreamed of becoming of SeeD and now the fate of the world lies in his hands.
      A powerful witch, whose existance was thought only to be a myth, has awakened and now threatens the peace which inhabits the world. Her malevolence and strong magic powers are feared, but her presence has recieved worship and praise.
      When Squall is inducted into SeeD, the elite mercenary force of Garden, he attends a party for the new members of SeeD, during which he meets Rinoa. Although they do not reveal their identities at the party, Squall encounters Rinoa later, and discovers she is the leader of the Forest Owls, a rebel organization fighting against the nation of Galbadia.
      The Forest Owls are not very effective in their battles against Galbadia, despite being assisted by SeeD. All the members of Forest Owls to have little concern about the conssequences of their actions.
      After meeting Rinoa, Squall and his companions have a very strange dream, in which Squall is Laguna Loire, a Galbadia soldier who would rather be a journalist. In the dream Zell is Ward, and Selphie is Kiros, who are companions of Squall, and are friends of Laguna in the dream.
      Meanwhile, the nation of Galbadia has declared war on the rest of the world. The president of Galbadia was assisted by the witch, Edea. It is suspected that Edea is behind Galbadian actions, therefore Squall and his companions are sent on a mission to assasin her.
      Complicating matters is the appearance of Seifer, Squall's rival, at Edea's side. Seifer has two loyal friends, Raijin and Fuujin who will also make Squall's missions harder.
